Concrete screws can be used for a variety of applications, however, they are best suited for different jobs

Self-Tapping Masonry Screws:

As self-drilling screws, they create their own threads for a secure grip and hold, eliminating the need for drilling pilot holes. Used for a variety of concrete applications including battens, brackets, cable racks, facade scaffolds, roofing membranes, formworks, hand rails, pipe brackets, profile rails, steel sections, and as a temporary fastening used for shelves and cable racks.

Self-tapping masonry screws include: 

• 4H Carbon Steel: Length: 32-45mm, Pilot Hole: 6.3mm  
• BS R 6.3 - Length: 35-240mm, Pilot Hole: 5mm
• JC2-IT M8/M10 - Length: 45-60mm, Pilot Hole: 6mm 
• JC2-FR - Length: 45-60mm, Pilot Hole: 6mm 
• JC2-ST - Length: 60-100mm, Pilot Hole: 6mm
• JC6-KB - Length: 67-150mm, Pilot Hole: 6-12mm
• JBS-R 7.5 - Length: 60-300mm, Nominal Drill Hole: 6mm. Used alongside EcoTek 50.

These heavy-duty fasteners are used alongside a nut and washer to secure large structures to concrete masonry, providing a strong and long-lasting connection. They are typically used for facade scaffolds, temporary fastening, contact surfaces, cable racks, handrails, battens & formwork.

• JC2-KB: Length 45-140mm, Pilot Hole: 6-10mm
• JC2-KB Plus 8: Length 55-140mm, Pilot Hole 8mm
• JC2-KB Plus 10: Length 60-160mm, Pilot Hole 10mm

Flat roofing fasteners:

These are used to secure roofing materials such as roofing membranes to concrete surfaces.

• FPS E 8.0 (for aerated concrete): Length: 100-240mm, Pilot Hole: 8mm
   

How to use Concrete Screws?

Concrete screws, also known as masonry or tapcon screws, are fairly easy to install but should be done so correctly and safely, wearing eye and ear protection before drilling.

1. Determine the appropriate hole size and screw length
2. Using a hammer drill, start drilling the hole until you reach the desired depth.
3. Clean the hole with a brush or hoover to remove all concrete dust to ensure proper fastening.
4. Position the fixture over the hole, ensuring the hole in the fixture is large enough for the screw to pass through.
5. Using a drill (or hand tools such as a spanner or wrench),insert the concrete screw into the fixture and then into the hole, allowing it to tap threads into the base material.
6. Avoid turning the screw too fast, as it may strip the base material and cause the screw to spin in the hole.
