We sell the highest quality self-tapping metal screws for use on hardwood, metal & plastic applications, all varying in length and type.
Forged from stainless steel, they are a lot more durable compared to regular screws and create their own threads as they enter the material. Ideal for aluminium, steel and timber applications, they create a long-lasting and secure connection between two materials that will last years to come.
They are easy to install; all you need to do is drill a hole, blow out the debris and fasten the screw in place to secure. When fastening, it creates its own threads in the material.

Self-tapping screws have a pointed end and a threaded shaft which creates its own threads as it is driven into a pre-drilled pilot hole. Made from stainless and carbon steel, they are most suitable for metal, plastic and timber applications requiring a strong & secure connection.
Self-drilling screws are similar, however, they do not require a pilot hole. Whilst they will save you time, they can wear down over time and can cause the material to split upon entry.
First, drill a pilot hole slightly smaller than the screw's diameter in the material you are attaching the screw to. Once the pilot hole is made, insert the self-tapping screw and begin turning it clockwise. As it is turned, it will cut its threads into the material, creating a secure and tight connection.
When screwing in, make sure to not over-tighten the screw as it can strip the threads or cause the material to split.
Removing self-tapping screws can be tricky, but can be done. Identify the type of screw head and use the accompanying screwdriver/drillbit to unscrew it from the material. Self-tapping screws vary in head type, including countersunk, hex and pan head. If it is a hex head screw, you can remove it using a hand tool such as a spanner or wrench.
