Rockwool is a well-trusted insulation brand that manufactures Rockwool Hardrock insulation, the boards are made from volcanic rock, which has been spun and bound together in a wool-like fleece.
At UKFR, you can find a wide range of Rockwool insulation boards including multi-fix, underlay and UB34, all ideal for a variety of flat roof insulation projects.
All of these are great flat roof solutions, however, there are some differences between them.
Rockwool Hardrock Multifix is a versatile stone wool insulation board suitable for any refurbishment project. It has exceptional acoustic and fire resistance properties for the highest performance possible and can be used on a wide range of flat roofing systems including single-ply, flat roofs, inverted roofs, pitched roofs and cavity walls.

These are available in varying thicknesses between 60-150mm and can be bought as individual insulation boards or in pallet sizes ranging from 6 to 20. If you require more than 20, please get in contact with us and we can arrange a bespoke quote.
When installing multi-fix insulation, Rockwool Hardrock Underlay can be used alongside it to improve its thermal performance.
Rockwool Hardrock UB34 is similar to multi-fix, however, it features a 6mm cement fibre board on the surface making it more impact and weather-resistant. It's most often used when you need the most durable solution, such applications include upstands and parapet walls.

Rockwool insulation is a stone-based insulation made from volcanic rocks which have been melted in a cupola furnace, spun, given water-repellency treatment and bound together in a wool-like fleece.
Rockwool insulation is relatively easy to install but may require assistance moving into loft spaces. When moving and installing the product, you should wear the correct PPE including face mask, gloves, long sleeves and trousers to ensure your skin does not come into direct contact with it.
