Used when installing a timber overlay when you cannot use a warm deck tube system. These are available in boxes of 100 & 200 and vary from 5.0 x 50mm to 6.0 x 200mm in size. For these to be insulated screws, they should be used in conjunction with fixing plates for the best installation possible.
Note - These are not the recommended fixings as they are not thermally broken, however in applications where a tube and screw combination is not possible these are suitable.
The size of your warm deck fixing will vary depending on your roof build up.
For example: If you have 120mm insulation on top of / an 18mm timber or 0.7 - 1.2mm steel deck with nothing else above, 120mm will be the thickness you need.
If however, you have 120mm insulation on top of an 18mm timber or 0.7 - 1.2mm steel deck with an 18mm upper timber deck you have a build-up of 138mm - please round up and use the 140mm thickness filter.
If you are still not sure what fixing size you require, use our super simple warm deck fixing calculator.

Insulation is an effective way to retain heat in your home, and the type you need depends on a few factors including the space you have to work with, your required level of fireproofing or noise reduction, and more.
We have a variety of flat roof insulation panels including Rockwool Hardrock, the only A1 fireclass rated flat roofboard. For fully bonded roofs we have tissue faced boards including Kingspan TR27, Ecotherm EcoBond and Recticel Powerdeck F. We also have foil faced boards for a mech
You can not glue the insulation to plywood. However, you can glue it to a fully prepared deck. A fully prepared deck requires a vapour barrier such as ALUTRIX or ELOTENE to be installed onto a clean deck with their compatible primer. Make sure to only use tissue-faced boards such as Kingspan TR27, TT47, Ecotherm InnoBond or RECTICEL Powerdeck F. You cannot use foil-backed insulation when glueing.
An insulated fixing is used to secure insulation materials to a substrate, such as concrete, wood, or metal, while minimising the transfer of heat between different materials (otherwise known as thermal bridging).
Insulated fixings are made using a plastic outer layer, helping prevent heat loss or gain through walls, floors or roofs on a variety of building applications.
Insulated fixings should be used in instances where the insulation board is attached to the building's exterior. This will help ensure the thermal performance of the building envelope, reducing heat loss or gain and improving overall energy efficiency in the process.
The fixing size is the depth of the materials from the lower deck upwards.
A timber deck fixing allows for an 18mm lower deck, any less than 18mm please contact us as you will need a different product size. The screw will then protrude from the lower edge of the deck by 20mm. The following diagram shows most standard roof build-ups.
No, the lower deck should be fixed to the joists and/or firings. The insulation only needs to be secured to the lower deck.
