Warm Deck Insulation Fixing for Steel Deck (Box 100)

Questions & Answers

  • Perfect for Flat Roofs
  • Prevents Thermal Bridging Related Issues
  • Innovative Telescopic Design
  • Tube & Screw Combination

This warm roof deck insulation fixing is designed to secure insulation to a steel deck between 0.7-1.2mm.

Important: You will receive a tube washer & screw combination designed for your roof thickness. The roof thickness is the insulation thickness + the upper deck thickness (if applicable). For example if you have 150mm insulation and an upper deck of 18mm timber then the roof thickness is 168mm so you would select 170mm (190mm overall length). If you had 150mm insulation with no upper deck then you would select 150mm (170mm overall length.) If you are unsure please contact us and we will be happy to advise the size you require.

This innovative fixing combines an insulation tube washer and screw to fix the insulation to the steel substrate. They are designed to secure through the lower deck and protrude by approximately 20mm to create a secure fix. They are not intended for fixing into the roof joists below.

What size insulation fixing do you need?

The fixing size selected is the depth of the materials from the lower deck upwards. So this is the Insulation Thickness + Upper Deck thickness (such as 18mm timber overlay).

A steel fixings allow for a 0.7 - 1.2mm deck. The screw will then protrude the lower edge of the deck by 20mm. The following diagram shows most standard roof build-ups.

What will I receive?

You will receive the correct tube and screw combination for the depth of your roof build-up.

These are chosen by the manufacturer in conjunction with the major insulation manufacturers.

How many fixings do I need?

  • For a 2400mm x 1200mm board we recommend 12 fixings per board. If your project is exposed or is in a high wind area this should be increased to 16.
  • For a 2400mm x 600mm T+G board we recommend 8 fixings per board.
  • For a 1200mm x 1200mm board we recommend 9 fixings per board.

Do I need to fix through into the joists or firings?

No, the lower deck should be fixed to the joists and/or firings. The insulation only needs to be secured to the lower deck.
