All products come from EJOT, whose products are designed for performance and engineered to last a long time. They’re high-quality, reliable, designed to sustain building-life performance.

Self Drilling Screws

EJOT self drilling screws & fasteners are manufactured for use in roofing and cladding applications, with many featuring an 8mm hex head with flange which offers excellent pullover resistance.

Availability: They’re available in a variety of materials including carbon steel, bi-metal and fully stainless steel and are either zinc plated or have an organic corrosion resistant finish.

Application: Commonly used for metal roofing, cladding & steel frame applications

 

Self Tapping Screws

EJOT self-tapping screws & fasteners are manufactured from high-grade stainless steel which is highly corrosion resistant. They’re zinc plated with a wax coating for a smooth and easy installation with reduced swarf on pre-drilled holes.

Manufactured from highly corrosion resistant 1.4529 austenitic stainless steel, the EJOT JZ1 and JA1 self tapping fasteners are unrivalled for their use in chlorine environments and other highly corrosive areas.

Applications: Designed for softer materials such as hardwood. They’re suitable for many applications including fixing aluminium, brackets, cladding panels, rooflights and steel to steel or timber substructures.
 

Colorfast Nylon Head Fasteners (High-Impact Roofing Screws)

EJOT Colorfast fasteners are self-drilling fasteners incorporated with a high-impact resistant EJOT coloured nylon head. 

These are designed for fixing profiled metal roofing and cladding sheets with the added benefit of colour matching. 

Availability: Carbon steel screws with an organic corrosion resistant, fully stainless steel or as bi-metallic stainless steel finish.
 
Applications: Colorfast fixings are most commonly used with steel components but are also suitable for composite panels, rooflights and timber materials.

 

EJOT Opticore (For Membrane-faced composite panels)

EJOT Opticore is a self-coring one-step fix for membrane-faced composite panels. These fasteners have the advantage of cutting fins which snap free as the fastener ‘pulls up’ meaning the panel lining is not damaged. 

Availability: Carbon steel and stainless steel combinations.

Applications: Installing membrane-faced insulation and securing hot and cold-rolled steel and timber.


Storm Washers

The EJOT Storm washers are manufactured to seal against the crown of sinusoidal or trapezoidal profiles to ensure a watertight seal once compressed. Most of the washers can be bent to suit most corrugated profiles.

All of the EJOT Storm washers have a 7mm hole which should be secured with a combination of a fastener and 15mm or 16mm bonded washer. 

Availability: Manufactured as a blank aluminium finish, however a colour match powder coating can be applied if required.

Application: Used to seal wavy or ridged sheets, creating a tight, waterproof seal.
 

Rivets

EJOT breakstem rivets are used to create a secure bond between two materials. They’re high performance and manufactured for both internal and external applications. 

Applications: Primarily for use in aluminium or steel sections, however the EJOT V/V rivet is designed for use in steel cladding sheets of a firewall application. We also supply the EJOT AL-V coloured rivet which can be colour match powder coated.

Frequently Asked Questions

For metal applications, we recommend using self-drilling screws paired with storm washers to ensure a strong, watertight seal.

For softer materials like timber or hardwood, we recommend self-tapping screws with storm washers. These provide a secure hold while preventing water ingress.

These should be installed on the ridges to ensure the best performance possible.
 

Self-drilling screws are designed with metal applications in mind. They feature a pointed end and threaded shaft which can be drilled into the surface without needing a pilot hole.

Self-tapping screws, whilst durable, are better suited for softer materials such as hardwood. They are similar to self-drilling screws as they feature a pointed end and threaded shaft, but they do require a pilot hole for installation.
 

Whilst you can install a corrugated roof without storm washers, we highly recommend using them as they prevent leaks and ensure a tight seal between the fastener and the sheet surface.
