ClassicBond EPDM membrane is a reliable, durable and sustainable EPDM rubber roofing system that can be used for a variety of commercial and residential applications. Trusted by roofers and builders across the country, its 50-year life expectancy makes it ready for anything coming its way.
The one-sheet ClassicBond system is available in thicknesses of 1.2mm & 1.5mm, allowing for easy installation on roofs up to 15.25m x 30.5m.
The ClassicBond Pro system has a fleece-reinforced backing and is ideal when you need a thicker and puncture-resistant membrane. This is available in 12.19m length rolls, which should be enough for any individual domestic project – if you are working on a large-scale project, get in contact with us to arrange a bulk order.
To ensure a tightly secure ClassicBond system, you must use a strong & long-lasting adhesive suitable for the application; whether you need a water-based deck adhesive, contact adhesive, or lap sealant.
Joining the ClassicBond membrane and installing tricky details has never been easier! The ClassicBond EPDM Tapes come in a variety of sizes. 3 and 6-inch EPDM tapes are ideal for simple jobs, such as connecting two overlapping membranes. For instances where you need more pliable tape, such as forming internal and external corners or securing pipes and drain outlets, the 9-inch uncured elastoform and 12-inch uncured flashing tapes will do the trick.
RUSS tape is used around upstands to prevent the EPDM pulling away at the edges. Recommend use on roofs over 40sq.m.
ClassicBond has a wide range of accessories including drain outlets, breather vents and trims to ensure your roof covering is complete. Drain outlets are designed to see rainwater leave downpipes, ensuring no standing water builds up on the roof. A flat roof breather vent is designed for a cold roof deck to allow ventilation in the insulation to avoid damp issues.
Don’t forget to add trims to your roof membrane which will ensure a professional and neat finish, whilst also adding durability to your covering by securing the edges. For a simulated lead flashing you can use our Metal Wall Trim. For most other roof edges you can use our ClassicBond Sure Edge Kerb & Gutter Drip Trim to create a long-lasting professional finish. Sure Edge Trims are easy to install, so even if you’re a beginner with limited DIY knowledge, you’ll be able to protect your building’s structure.

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber is a durable and flexible synthetic rubber with diverse applications from vehicle door seals to non-slip coatings for decks.
EPDM is commonly tear-resistant, durable and resistant to harsh environmental conditions including extreme heat, UV rays and deep cold. It is unmatched in terms of weather resistance, which is why it is a suitable rubber roofing membrane for lots of roofing applications & fixings.
Depending on your roof type, amount of maintenance and existing damage it has, a ClassicBond EPDM roof has a life expectancy of 50 years, so overall, you should look to change your EPDM roof system between 40 to 50 years.
There are many benefits to using any Classicbond EPDM roofing product, including cost-effectiveness, easy installation, and extreme durability.
ClassicBond and Firestone (now known as Elevate) are both durable, long-lasting EPDM rubber roofing solutions that feature tear and weather-resistant properties. ClassicBond can appear more expensive for the EPDM membrane itself however when compared as a full system ClassicBond is usually more cost effective. ClassicBond EPDM also benefits from being slightly thicker at 1.2mm vs 1.14m.
