Tissue-faced insulation is made from a mineralised glass fibre fleece offering comprehensive strength and excellent dimensional stability. These can be used for various advanced insulation applications including singly-ply membranes, built-up felt and mastic asphalt on both new build and refurbishment projects.

Kingspan TR27 is one of the top-performing insulation products for flat roofs. It is highly efficient, long-lasting, and made with a fibre-free rigid thermoset PIR core. With a low thermal conductivity of 0.024W/mK, alongside being easy to handle and install, it is an ideal choice for single-ply membranes, liquid roofing and other systems.
Kingspan is a great brand with many industry-leading benefits – however, they can be expensive, especially if you require a lot of insulation. At UKFR, we sell a variety of Kingspan TR27 equivalents, including Recticel Powerdeck F and Ecotherm InnoBond Insulation, the latter being made in the same factory as Kingspan. These insulation boards feature very similar properties compared to Kingspan TR27, making them perfect substitutes if you’re looking to save money.

TR27 is a PIR flat roof insulation board that has a tissue face that allows it to be glued to a VCL such as ALUTRIX or ELOTENE. It also allows for a fully bonded single ply system to be installed as the waterproofing layer such as our EPDM systems.
Our Kingspan selection is mostly for flat roof insulation, but Kingspan’s bespoke selection has floor insulation boards that can be found here.
Kingspan has a wide range of insulation products suitable for floor applications.
They do! Our Recticel Powerdeck F and Ecotherm InnoBond Insulation products feature similar features to the TR27, including thermal conductivity (0.024W/mK),material composition (Polyisocyanurate / PIR),and compressive strength (around 150kPa).
TR26 and TR27 are similar insulation boards, however, they serve different purposes. TR26 is made with a foil facing and is compatible with most mechanically-fixed waterproofing systems. Whereas TR27 has a tissue facing and is compatible with fully adhered, single-ply and partially bonded cold liquid or asphalt waterproofing systems.
