Installing Metal Roof Edge Trims:
- Note: To use the trim as a kerb edge it is necessary to create a small up-stand by installing a tanalised wood batten onto the roof deck before installing the EPDM membrane.
- Once you have installed the wooden batten and the EPDM membrane has been installed, you’re ready to install the metal edge trims.
Simply follow the below steps:
- Measure the length of the roof’s edge.
- Cut the metal trim to the correct length using a metal cutting saw.
- Clean the edge of the roof to remove any debris.
- Apply a bead of sealant to the edge of the flat roof.
- Position the metal edge trim onto the edge of the flat roof, making sure that it is level and flush with the roof surface.
- Secure the metal edge trim in place using the 40mm self-sealing hex fasteners.
- Apply sealant to the top of the metal edge trim to seal it to the roof.
- Repeat the process for the remaining edges.
