Description

The surface primer FG35 is used in combination with RESITRIX and ALUTRIX on a wide range of substrates.

FG35 is a quick-drying, ready-to-use, solvent-based primer consisting of synthetic rubber and resins. This is applied with a roller and at a rate of 250g per m2.

The drying time of just 35 minutes for FG35 remains unbeaten.

RESITRIX test results show drying times of other primers of almost 5 hours. However, the results show that they were never as dry as the surface primer FG35.

Application:

  • Tins can be applied with rollers
  • Spray cannisters can be used with the compatible hose and gun for a faster and easier installation on frequent / larger projects.

Please note: We supply the 1L and 2.5L as unbranded metal containers wrapped in shrink-wrap for delivery. The manufacturer does not supply FG35 Primer in these sizes, so repackaging into smaller tins allows less wastage on smaller jobs. Our smallest branded tub is 4.5L, which covers 17 - 20sq.m, it is therefore more eco-friendly, reduces wastage and allows for smaller projects.

Questions & Answers

Is RESITRIX EPDM

Yes, RESITRIX SKW is an EPDM rubber system that is a hybrid of modern EPDM rubber with glass fibre reinforcements and a self-adhesive bitumen base, which utilises hot air-welded joints for secure roofing.

What heat gun is needed for RESITRIX?

RESITRIX needs to be welded between 500°C and 700°C, meaning most quality heat guns can be used. Which heat gun to go for depends on how often you will be using it and your budget. RESITRIX is welded more easily with an inline heat gun; the base range starts with the Steinel HG2220E, ideal for single jobs or small jobs. If you are using it more frequently, our Leister ST or Leister AT range of heat guns is more commonly used.  The heat guns can be bought on their own or in kit form.

For RESITRIX, we recommend the full tool set, as a professional RESITRIX installer will benefit from all the high-quality hand tools in these sets.

How to install RESITRIX SKW EPDM?

RESITRIX is a system designed for the professional. It can be installed by advanced DIYers. We also offer training if you want to install the system for yourself or want to be a registered installer of RESITRIX. Here we have RESITRIX being installed onto a timber deck - Video
