Description

This warm roof deck insulation fixing is designed to securely fasten insulation to an 18mm plywood, timber or OSB deck, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting installation.

If your timber deck is less than 18mm please contact us for advice as you will require a different size tube and screw combination.

Please Note: These fixings are not intended for securing into roof joists. They are designed to protrude approximately 20mm through the lower deck, as tested and recommended by manufacturers.

Important: Your tube and screw combination will be selected based on the information you provide. Please ensure you choose the correct options for your roof to receive the appropriate fixings. All combinations are manufacturer-recommended.

How do these fixings work?

This innovative design combines a high-quality fixing with an insulation tube washer to securely fasten insulation to an 18mm timber substrate. The tube passes through the upper deck (if applicable), into the insulation, while the screw starts near the bottom of the tube and extends through the remaining insulation and timber, protruding through the timber deck by approximately 20mm to ensure a secure fix.

Features of these fixings:

  • Thermal Break: The screw head starts near the bottom of the tube washer, reducing thermal bridging.
  • Telescopic Design: Allows for natural roof movement without puncturing waterproofing layer above.

Questions & Answers

What size fixings and tubes will I receive?

The tube and screw combination you receive is based entirely on the options you select from the dropdown boxes. All combinations are manufacturer-recommended for optimal performance.

How do these fixings work?

This innovative design combines a high-quality fixing with an insulation tube washer to securely fasten insulation to an 18mm timber substrate.

The tube passes through the upper deck (if applicable), into the insulation.

The screw starts near the bottom of the tube and extends through the remaining insulation and timber, protruding through the timber deck by approximately 20mm to ensure a secure fix.

How many fixings do I need for my insulation?

  • For a 2400mm x 1200mm board, we recommend 12 fixings per board. If your project is exposed or is in a high wind area this should be increased to 16.
  • For a 2400mm x 600mm T+G board, we recommend 8 fixings per board.
  • For a 1200mm x 1200mm board, we recommend 9 fixings per board.
  • For a 1200mm x 600mm boards, we recommend 5 fixings per board.

Do I need to fix through into the joists or firings?

No, the lower deck should be fixed to the joists and/or firings. The insulation only needs to be secured to the lower deck.

Which P2 Bit do I need?

*Roof build up = insulation thickness + upper deck (if applicable)
