At UKFR, we sell a wide range of artificial roof tile slates combining modern slate technology and the natural slate appearance for an attractive and high-quality roofing system.
At UKFR we also offer the EcoSlate which is an all in one roofing and ridge slate. The unique asset to EcoSlate is that there is no need for custom made ridges, hips or end plates as everything is made from the one single product. This also makes them an excellent time and cost effective product as they can be installed in less than half the time of a real slate roof.
With EcoSlate being flexible and pliable they are extremely versatile and you can use them for any roof type. This super simple slate alternative is available in traditional grey and red here.
EcoSlates are manufactured from 95% recycled plastics making them eco friendly in their construction and this also means they can be recycled at the end of their usable lifespan which is over 50 years. They also boast a BBA certificate and have been tested in winds of up to 110 mph.
Each pack is 16 slates which will cover up to 1sq.m with roofs of 20-45 degree pitch and can be installed on roofs with as low a pitch as 10 degrees.

Roof ventilation is necessary for the longevity of the roof system. Having a cool attic in the summer and a dry attic in the winter helps prevent damage to building materials and reduces energy consumption.
To ensure adequate ventilation, it is recommended to have a ventilation system split between the ridge and the soffit. A net free area of 0.09m2 is required for every 27.9m2 of attic floor space.
